The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
Rating:
So at first I was like,
and then when I realized where it was going,
The Boy In The Striped Pajamas, a masterpiece by John Boyne, is a story about Bruno, a 9 year old kid whose life's flipped upside down the minute he moves next to a concentration camp. The story takes place during the 50's or so. The story's situation is made less heavier than it actually is since it is told from Bruno's point of view.

- I really liked the way the author made everything so vivid even though it's a kid's point of view.
- I really liked the way Bruno behaved with certain characters, since it showed how much you could learn from a kid. (some of the adults in the story were annoying pricks to others)
- It lacked more details and backstory.
- the freaking ending,
and the last thing I want to point out is: At the end of this story it says that this most likely wouldn't happen nowadays. This is my interpretation:

There's no such person, or in this case, friend that would give everything up for you. At least, not nowadays.

Thank you Boyne for this adventure.
Oh, and thank you too, Bruno.
